The washing liquid pump pressurizes the washing liquid in the water tank into the sprayer of the spray duster and atomizes and blows. After the hot air is sprayed, the temperature is lowered and cooled, the clean air for removing moisture and dust is discharged from above the spray dust remover. It can be gasified, incinerated, used as biofuel, green soil, cement plant utilization, building materials and so on. The wet sludge will be fed at one end of the cylinder with the help of belt conveyer. The declining cylinder with paddles in it will rotate slowly and move the sludge forward to the other end of the cylinder. Meanwhile, the hot air from the wood furnace will be blown into the cylinder in the contrary direction with the sludge.
The dryer consists of a transparent thermo shell in which the HUBER Sludge Turner SOLSTICE® distributes the sludge all over the area. In addition heat (for example at 50° C) can be added via floor heating. Heat input via heating coils is also possible (usually with temperatures above 70° C). External heating can be operated with exhaust heat from a block heat and power plant or by means of a heat pump which uses the heat contained within wastewater . The special wedged stirring and heat transfer blade in the equipment has high heat transfer efficiency and self-cleaning function of heat transfer surface. The hollow shaft is lined with wedged hollow blades, and the thermal medium flows into the hollow blades through hollow shaft.
In the drying process of Kenki, the materials are moved forward into the dryer’s main body smoothly by being heated and crashed with a feeder at the inlet. The materials get smaller and smaller since they are continuously sheared and agitated during conveying and heating. As the material gets more divided, heat reaches inside more smoothly and surely, and quality of outputs becomes stable. Drying takes place by a combination of evaporation and gravity drainage through the sand. A piping network built under the sand collects the water, which is pumped back to the head of the plant. After about six weeks of drying, the sludge cake, as it is called, may have a solids content of about 40 percent. It can then be removed from the sand with a pitchfork or a front-end loader. In order to reduce drying time in wet or cold weather, a glass enclosure may be built over the sand beds. Since a good deal of land area is needed for drying beds, this method of dewatering is commonly used in rural or suburban towns rather than in densely populated cities.
As the discs rotate, the dryer has self-cleaning effect to scrape adhered material on shafts, discs and casing off automatically. In this way,the drying performance is enhanced by the prevention of adhesion of material and the renewal of the heat transfer area. At small treatment plants, sludge is usually removed by manual shoveling into wheelbarrows or trucks. At larger plants, a scraper or front-end loader, or special mechanical cake removal equipment, is used. Therefore, the working area of the Vantaa sludge dryer includes the feeding area, the inclined lift plate area, the cleaning area and the guide area. Dewatering aims to reduce the water content further so that the solids content of the sludge remains about 20 %.
